James Henry Hardy
James Henry Hardy is the founder of Horizon Financial. He holds the Series 6, 7, 24, 26, 53, and 66 registrations and is registered with SagePoint Financial, Inc. He is also licensed in life, health, long-term care and disability insurance. Henry has been a financial services professional for more than 31 years and supervises 19 registered representatives.
Prior to becoming an independent financial advisor, Henry served as an assistant football coach at Auburn University (Graduate Assistant), Jacksonville State University, Opelika High School and as head coach at Shaw High School in Mobile.
Henry obtained a Bachelor’s in Education from Auburn University, a Master’s in Education from Jacksonville State University, and a Master’s in Education Administration from the University of South Alabama.
Henry has been married to Barbara Steele Hardy for 44 years, and they have three children.

Ross Hardy joined Horizon Financial as an investment advisor in 2013. Ross holds the Series 7 and 66 securities registrations, and he is also licensed as a life insurance representative. Ross earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts from Troy University in 2012.
Ross has been married to Lauren for 3 years. They are proud parents of a sweet boy named Wells who is nearly 2 years old.
Melissa Ballard began her career at Horizon Financial in 2010 as an administrative assistant. She holds the Series 7 and 66 registrations, as well as her life and health license. Since 2015, she has served as Horizon Financial’s operations manager.
Melissa has two children, Tanner and Sara Peyton.
Liz Ray has been the director of communications at Horizon Financial since 2014.
Prior to joining Horizon Financial, Liz worked as a counselor at two mental health facilities, as well as a victim advocate in law enforcement.
She earned a Bachelor’s of Psychology from the University of West Florida and a Master’s of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University.
Liz has been happily married to Andy Ray for over 23 years. They live in Spanish Fort with their three beautiful kids and rescue Bichon Frise poodle named Cesar.
